interface to collect information about networked
Windows workstations and remotely execute tasks
on those workstations.
It consists of four components: the Agent,
Executor, User Interface,
and Database.
The Agent runs as a service on
an end-users workstation. It collects information
about the workstation, storing it in the database,
and executes tasks that have been assigned to
it.
The Executor performs those same
tasks for workstations that do not have the agent
installed on them.
The User Inferface provides the
mechanism for generating reports on collected
information and tasks, managing the system, and
creating and managing tasks.
The Database is a distributed
repository for all the other components.
